Fiesta on th Hill - October 17, 2004, Cortland Avenue - Bernal Heights

A true neighborhood street fair - the Fiesta on the Hill was a smashing success despite the occasional rains and winds.  Miguel and over 30 volunteers shared over 100 cups of coffee and hot chocolate, close to 600 bottles of Bustos bottled spring water, 10 pounds of candy and a box of doggie biscuits with hundreds of residents throughout the day. The energy was electric as Miguel and the volunteers registered voters, distributed literature about the Bustos Campaign and listened to the needs and concerns of community members.  One thing was constant - People said It's TIME for new leadership and It's TIME for some REAL CHANGE!

Endorsement from Supervisor Fiona Ma for Miguel Bustos

Supervisor Fiona Ma has endorsed Miguel Bustos to be the next Supervisor for District 9.

"District elections demand a different type of Supervisor, someone who is hands on and has a focus on district issues," said Ma. "It also takes someone who has the ability and the desire to work on City issues. Miguel Bustos is just that person. He is a coalition builder who takes a hands-on approach and has a proven ability to bring people together. Miguel and I care about similar issues: public safety, immigrants, senior citizens, youth, women, jobs, and quality of life."

Ma and Bustos emphasized their common roots as children of immigrants.

"Supervisor Fiona Ma has shown herself to be a strong new leader on the Board of Supervisors, and I am grateful and honored to have her support," said Bustos. "She represents the kind of leadership I will bring to the Board: someone who will bring together our diverse communities, not divide them; someone who will listen to all sides of an issue, not block out points of view; someone who will make a decision with a full set of information, not jump to conclusions. Fiona's endorsement highlights how this campaign has been reaching out to all communities in District 9 and the City."
